Respect Your Body

Accept your genetic blueprint. Just as a person with a shoe size of eight would not expect realistically to squeeze into a size six, it is equally futile(and uncomfortable) to have a similar expectation about body size. Respect your body so you can feel better about who you are. It's hard to reject the diet mentality if you are unrealistic and overly critical of your body shape.

I loved this quote. I wish it was seared into my brain so that I could remember it ALL the time, especially after I eat! :/ Thanks for posting it, though, lovely Lesbian Legs!

i know this is not exactly what you're looking for when you read comments to this blog, but i can't help but share this hilarious story because your quote mentioning a dissatisfaction with feet size reminded me of it!... i knew a family and their grandma was a wee bit nuts. one day after watching some tv (i was babysitting her grandkids) we were talking about how i was dating this boy whose father was a podiatrist. she then started telling me about how cool it is that there are specialized surgeons and stuff and that she heard of a procedure where they will shave off the back of your heel bone in order to make your feet smaller if you think they are too big. she said she wished she had the money to get that done because she didn't like how big her feet were. i said, debbie, what size are your feet? they don't look abnormally large... oh the woman wore a size 8! what a crazy lady! the best part is that she was 100% serious! its one of my favorite stories! who says something like that?!
